FAQS
Starting therapy comes with plenty of questions. Here are answers to some of the ones that come up most often.
-
Yes. I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments. In-person sessions take place at my office in downtown Glen Ellyn and telehealth sessions are held through a secure video platform.
For telehealth, you’ll need to be physically located in Illinois at the time of our appointment.
-
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and start making sense of what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask about what’s been going on, what feels most important right now, and some of the experiences that have shaped where you are today.
You don’t need to arrive with your whole life story organized or know exactly where to begin. We’ll figure that out together.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Meeting regularly gives us time to build momentum and get to know the patterns we’re working with rather than starting from scratch each time.
As things shift, we can talk together about whether meeting less frequently makes sense. There isn’t one timeline that works for everyone.
-
Nope.
Sometimes people come to therapy knowing exactly what they want help with. Other times it’s more like, I don’t really know what’s wrong, but this isn’t working anymore.
Both are perfectly good places to begin. You don’t need the right words, a diagnosis, or a neatly defined goal. We can start with what you’re noticing and get curious from there.
-
Yes. I work with couples around communication, conflict, connection, parenting, changing roles, and the ways relationships shift during major life transitions.
I also offer Becoming Us™, a structured program specifically designed to help partners prepare for and navigate parenthood.

Life happens, and sometimes plans need to change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged a late cancellation fee of $150. Appointments missed without notice are charged a no show fee of $175. If you are late by 15 minutes or more and have not contacted me, I will assume you are not coming.
Insurance does not cover late cancellation or no-show fees. These fees must be paid in full at or before your next session.
